Bring a friend, bring your group, or come for a solo visit. Fontana can be either an ideal stop on your Golden Circle tour or the destination for a scenic ride from Reykjavík.

Geothermal bathing

The geyser steam bath

Inside this steam-filled dome, all your senses are activated. The geyser hums right below; its warmth rises and surrounds you with a distinct smell and the sound of bubbling water.

The temperature varies depending on the geyser activity, usually between 40°C (104°F) and 50°C (122°F).

Cooling down

A dip in the lake

Feeling too hot? A cool dip between sessions in the steam baths is a refreshing shift for the healthy hearted. Alternate hot and cold baths are increasingly popular and believed to boost recovery and enhance circulation.

Fontana is right on the shore of Laugarvatn lake, and you can go straight from the hot baths into the cold lake.
