These rules apply to all guests at Fontana. By entering the facility you agree to comply with them.They exist to keep everyone safe, healthy, and comfortable, and to protect the natural geothermal water we share.
Fontana does not use chlorine. The health and purity of our water depends entirely on the hygiene and conduct of our guests.
→ Shower before bathing -- no exceptions.
All guests must shower thoroughly without swimwear before entering any pool, steam bath, sauna, or cold plunge. This is required by Icelandic law and is essential at Fontana, where our geothermal water is not treated with chlorine or other disinfectants.
→ Wear clean swimwear.
Only clean swimwear is permitted in the water. Underwear, regular clothing, shorts, and t-shirts are not permitted in the pools or other bathing facilities.
→ Arrive sober.
Guests who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or other substances will be refused entry. Fontana sells and permits the responsible enjoyment of alcohol within the facility, but guests who are visibly intoxicated pose a safety risk and will be asked to leave.
→ Children under 10 must be accompanied.
Children under 10years of age must be accompanied by a swimming-capable adult (16 or older) at all times. A maximum of two children per accompanying adult applies, unless the adult is the child's parent or legal guardian.
→ Children under 16 in the sauna and steam bath.
Children under 16 may only use the sauna and steam bath when accompanied by an adult.
→ Latest admission 30 minutes before closing.
Guests must enter the facility before the admission deadline. Late entry cannot be guaranteed.
→ Follow staff instructions.
Our staff are here to help. Guests who do not follow instructions or these house rules may be asked to leave the facility without refund.
→ Respect the quiet in the steam bath and sauna.
The steam bath and sauna are designated quiet zones. Please keep conversation to a minimum, speak softly, and be considerate of guests seeking rest and stillness. Mobile phones should be silenced before entering.
→ Photography is welcome in pools and outdoor areas.
We love that you want to share your experience. Cameras, phones, and other devices are permitted in all pool and outdoor areas.
☓ Strictly no photography or mobile phone use in changing rooms.
This rule is absolute and will be enforced without exception. Any guest found photographing or recording in the changing rooms will be asked to leave the facility immediately.
☓ Smoking and e-cigarettes.
Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are prohibited throughout the entire Fontana facility, indoors and outdoors.
☓ Glass containers.
Glass is not permitted in pool areas for safety reasons. All drinks served in the facility are provided in appropriate containers.
Fontana is a place to relax and reconnect with nature. Please be considerate of other guests and treat our staff with respect. Loud or disruptive behavior that disturbs other guests may result in removal from the facility.
Fontana reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any guest who does not comply with these rules, without refund.
