New and improved Fontana

Fontana is at the heart of the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most popular tourist route, and invites visitors to experience the healing power of natural geothermal springs. The new and improved facilities will feature a steam room built directly above a geyser, improved locker rooms, a new sauna, and baths that extend into Laugarvatn Lake, all designed to honor and elevate the area’s environment and rich history.

New sauna

The new sauna features a large panoramic window offering a breathtaking view of Laugarvatn Lake. The intense heat of the sauna has a range of health benefits, from supporting detoxification to improving cardiovascular health. For the full Nordic-style experience, step out to cool off in the lake before returning for another round in the sauna.

Geyser steam room

Since 1929, locals have embraced the healing power of the area's geothermal activity. Inside this steam-filled dome, all your senses are activated. The geyser hums right below; its warmth rises and surrounds you with a distinct smell and the sound of bubbling water. The new steam room will highlight the natural geyser and honor the bathing traditions cherished by locals over the years.

New bathing experience

The new baths will extend into Laugarvatn Lake, connected but varied in depth, size, and temperature. Designed for both relaxation and recreation, the baths will feature a new in-water bar where guests can enjoy refreshing drinks without leaving the water.
