Fontana opening hours?
Laugarvatn Fontana is open all year from 11:00 am to 9:00. During the summer, from 1st June until 30th September we expand hour openings time from 10:00 am to 9:00pm.

Yes, depending on the hot spring activity.
Most of the time, we have fresh tastings and whole pieces for sale.
Please ask one of the team members.
Unfortunately, we can't ship bread abroad.

Is the restaurant open?
We offer a two soups served with bread, butter and pesto. We also offer bagels (Salmon & vegan) and two types of Skyr with granola.
I have a problem with payment /double booking

Do I need to book my tickets in advance?
We recommend that our guests book tickets in advance, but tickets can also be purchased at Fontana's reception for walk-in guests subject to availability.
For groups larger than 10pax, please e-mail sales@fontana.is.
How do I book the Rye Bread tour?
We have daily Geothermal Bakery tours all year round at 11:45 am and 2:30 pm. Between 1 June & 30 September we add third tour at 10:15 am.

Price is 3.190 ISK pr. person. (0-12 years old go free)

What is your cancellation policy?
By purchasing tickets to any of Laugarvatn Fontana's activities, you accept our cancellation policy. All cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before your visit to get a full refund.
- If you cancel with more than 48 hours notice, you get a full refund
- If you cancel with 24 - 48 hours notice, we charge 50% and refund 50%
- If you cancel with less then 24 hours notice, we charge 100%In the unlikely event of a sudden closure of Laugarvatn Fontana, guests choose whether they reschedule the visit or get a full refund.
How do I get there?
Unfortunately, there are no direct buses between Reykjavík and Laugarvatn Fontana so self-drive is always the best result.

A walk on Laugarvatn Mountain - Storagil Vestra
A perfect walking trail for families offering great views in all directions.
Running Trail at the foot of Laugarvatn Mountain
A new trail through the forest alongside the hillside of the mountain. Approximately one hour hike.
Climber's Paradise in Storagil Eystra
This spot is a gully between Laugarvatn Mountain and Snorrastada Mountain, right above the camping site which is around 20 minute walk from Laugarvatn. There are several sheep-trails in the gully and beautiful landscapes along the way with caves and cliffs which are a climber's paradise, with its beautiful view over Laugarvatn and over the active volcano Hekla. The hike can take up to two hours.
Be careful when taking a hike and always seek guidance or make sure that the path is easy to find. After hikes, walks or being out in the nature a visit to Laugarvatn Fontana is highly recomended to complete your enjoyment of the nature.

Iceland Golden Circle Attraction
Laugarvatn Fontana is located in the center of the Golden Circle. This most popular tourist route in Iceland consists of Þingvellir national park and the infamous Geysirand Gullfoss waterfall.
We consider our spa to be the perfect annex to the Golden Circle tour - before or after seeing the spouting hot springs at Geysir area you can sit safely above one and inhale the steam coming straight from the core of the earth. Quite unique!
